About Tribe Calendars
Tribe Calendars is a community project sponsored by KedoshaTribe. It exists to help facilitate better coordination across the Jewish movement, in order to help create a holy community.
What it does
Before an organization picks the dates for a conference, a convention or a communal gathering, it can see what already sits on those dates: Yom Tov and other Jewish holidays, US and Canadian public holidays, and events other organizations have planted. When there is a clash, the calendar says which one and why, and suggests dates that are clear.
Where it came from
Tribe Calendars was created by Kedosha Tribe LLC as a community project. Organizations kept scheduling gatherings on top of each other, and on top of holidays, because there was no single place to look.
How it works
- Anyone can view the calendar and check their dates. No account is needed.
- Organizations sign in to plant their own events, or connect their calendar feed so their events appear automatically.
- Each organization manages its own team. KedoshaTribe only approves organization administrators.
- Every event shows its source and its history, so you can confirm a date at the source.
Where the data comes from
Jewish holiday dates come from Hebcal and public holidays from Nager.Date. Organization events come from the organizations themselves.
